Allen A. Adams (Tony)
Born in San Diego on June 4, 1931, Tony attended schools in the area including San Diego State College until the Korean War broke out. After 3 years, most of it in Korea, he used his G.I. Bill to study art at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles.
His first art position was a screen cartoonist for Walt Disney Productions until he secured a position as a graphics designer and conceptual artist for General Dynamics Corporation in San Diego. He enjoyed a 30 year career there until retirement in 1987. During this time he was active in fine arts concentrating on representational paintings of wildlife, landscapes, and portraiture.
In 1989, he and his wife, Paige, moved to the Oregon coast where he continued as both painter and teacher in the Coos Bay Art Community.
He has also enjoyed a 20 year career and is still active as a firefighter with his local volunteer Fire Department, North Bay Fire.
